Outsiders CALLING ON YOUTH...

After the wildly exciting 2019 Savage Beat were geared up for an even busier 2020. But after just two shows at the beginning of the year, you all know what happened. Undeterred they entered the recording studio to lay down some new tunes.
The result is a five-song 12" New World out on Rebellion Records and LSM-Vinyl. The title track was originally written out of anger about the gentrification of Amsterdam, where all the cool bars and clubs had to close down and real rocknroll places were pushed further back to the industrial outskirts of town. But as of March this year and the ensuing lockdown, the song took on an extra meaning. Sure enough, measures had to be taken but the annihilation of the music industry and cultural sector across the board is a huge blow to us all. This is a new world, but we belong to the old.
Musically the new record picks up where they left off on 2019's Wired, but adds some new flavors as well. It's still balls out, anthemic punk rock but power pop and glam influences are heard on tracks like Killing Time and All Bars in Town.
Put this sucker on your turntable or blast it on your headphones and hopefully, Savage Beat will be back soon wrecking stages and laying waste to all bars in town.
